About This Gallery

Studying plants, buds, pods, flowers and leaves in their habitat is the first step in capturing their fleeting and often fragile nature. Not only is scientific accuracy vital in my botanical art, so too is the artistic essence: What makes this one special and why did it catch my eye, demanding that I draw and paint it? It is rewarding to find just the right expression and colors in each composition of these (mostly) Mid-Atlantic artworks. See if there aren’t some beauties near where you live that I have depicted here.

Meet the Artist

Marsha traces her fascination with the natural world to her years growing up on Lake Ontario in New York State.
